Our EMTA annual conference is a great chance for EM trainees around the country to meet, socialise and engage with each other in conversation, inspiration, learning and developing skills.
This year #EMTA18: Beyond the Breach will be held at the Mercure Cardiff Hotel and we will have space for up to 150 trainees to attend this 2-day conference on the 27-28 November 2018.
In true EM style, we’ve tried to pack in as much over 2 days as we can, the conference will include presentations, panel discussions, debates and breakout sessions. We are being supported by amazing, high quality speakers who are giving up their time to help develop EM trainees.
We know how hard EM trainees have to work to try and make sure we are doing the best for our patients; whilst trying to make sure each of us is ok along the way – #EMTA18: Beyond the Breach is a great way to look out for each other.
Family matters, and that includes pets. We know that organising care for babies and pets can be tricky. So as part of this conference we have arranged for some additional facilities to help make it a baby and dog friendly conference.
Sadly we haven’t been able to secure any extra space or facilities for toddlers and children this year but babes in arms are welcome to all the sessions. The conference rooms have space for pushchairs. If they start heckling the speakers, or need somewhere for a bit of quiet time we have a separate room where we will have a live feed from the main conference room to so that the speakers can continue and you don’t miss a thing. You can feed in this room or in any of the conference rooms, there are no restrictions. The hotel has changing and milk warming facilities easily available. Well behaved dogs that will sit quietly are also welcome in the main conference room and by arrangement with the hotel can also stay in the hotel rooms overnight. Unfortunately dogs are not permitted in the breakout session rooms or the hotels main bar and we do ask any owners to respect the fact that some people are not fond of dogs.
